I really sympathise for her death, but did it had to happen like this for people to remember who she use to be ? Whitney Houston’s prime was with the song “I Will Always Love You". Most of my friends remember her with that song and of course with the movie “Bodyguard". However, not all of her fans know that she use to be a junky. Whitney failed at one of her concerts, because she was out of breath. All of this came out NOW, after her death. MJ had the same case. Before his death many speculated against him for various things, but after he passed away all started crying. That sickens me !
May her soul rest on peace.

Yeah, you’re absolutely right. Taking people for granted is something that we can’t seem to help doing. As sad as it may sound, I guess the answer to your question is yes, it takes something like death for people (and I include myself here) to stop and recognize somebody’s greatness. It took her death for me to go back and revisit her rendition of the Star Spangled Banner and I’m ashamed to admit I’d all but forgotten about it… Amazing stuff she will and SHOULD be remembered for.
