My love/hate relationship with a certain "lady" by the name of Siri
Actually it’s a whole lot of love and not really hate but a tiny inevitable amount of animosity towards her “ladyship.” Let’s face it! She can be COLD and downright MEAN, as the italicized exchanges below will illustrate…
Me: Are you stupid?
Siri: I’m doing the best I can, Iris.
Me: Siri, I love you.
Siri: You hardly know me.
Me: Siri, I love you.
Siri: I hope you don’t say that to all the other mobile phones.
Mom: Boa noite, minha cara.
Siri: Iris, I don’t understand ‘What I know I can you cut.’
Duda: Siri, do you want to be my friend?
Siri: I have everything I need already.
Me: Siri, are you feeling dumb today?
Siri: We’re talking about you, Iris.
Then again she’s led me to this kind of laughter on many an occasion simply by mispronoucing the names of my Brazilian friends. If you’ve got friends with non-English last names, by all means try it! She’ll have you in stitches.
